Criticality Calculations
Download Word document

1.0 INTRODUCTION
This evaluation (EVAL) analyzes the process of application and removal of the combined Encapsulation Technologies’s glycerin and water preparation (i.e., "Capture Coating") plus InstaCote, Inc.’s strippable coating material to be used in the deactivation, decontamination and decommissioning of gloveboxes in selected buildings (e.g., Building 371) at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site (RFETS). Since the Encapsulation Technologies Capture Coating will be allowed to dry prior to application of InstaCote’s coating material, the two materials combined will be referred to as "Capture Coating & InstaCote" in the remainder of this document. This EVAL document is similar in format to Reference 1 in which an evaluation was prepared by R. D. Harris of the Safe Sites of Colorado (SSOC) Company for a different stripcoat material for similar application and removal of material from gloveboxes that exist inside Buildings 776, 777, and 779 at the RFETS. The referenced evaluation was performed in accordance with Procedure SSOC-NCSI-040, Revision 0, Instructions for Criticality Safety Evaluations.
